If you are a nurse and hope to find a short-term placement in New Zealand, then beware: there are stories of UK nurses who have been told they were overqualified and/or did not have the right qualifications for New Zealand (as NZ is a little behind in healthcare somehow). You will have a hard time finding a placement as a proper nurse and it would cost you a lot of money to actually get the right qualifications. If you would like to work in a nursing home, however, you might have good chances to find a job as there is a high demand for care-takers, and if you have the right attitude and find the right place, you might even find a short-term placement without needing a qualification in the healthcare sector.
