Description:
We are a family farming business near Hinds, 1 hour south of Christchurch.
Our 470 hectare dairy farm calves 1500 cows in the spring August/September and milks until May. The farm has two milking sheds, A 40aside herringbone and a 60bale rotary.
We have 7 fulltime staff that do an amazing job and we couldn’t operate the farm with out them! In our busy time August-November we take on another 2-4 people to help get it all done.
The farm is flat and in the heart of the mid-canterbury plains. We have amazing views of the southern alps, including mt Hutt ski field (60km) and mt Peel 5719ft (30km).
Our dairy herd graze a grass based system meaning they’re outside every day on pasture. The farm is fully irrigated using water from a local irrigation scheme.
There is always something happening on our farm. And we hope that everyone that comes here enjoys it and learns some new skills and experiences!
