Cooks And Foh Attendant

Located at the corner of the Taupo lake front -

We are looking for a cook / junior chef to join us for the next till end of Feb.

Part time / Evening chef wanted at one of Taupo's best restaurant. Mornings free to travel and explore the central north Island.

You will be lead by a Sous chef and a CDP with years of kitchen experience under their belts !

The job in a nutshell

Prepare ingredients: This includes chopping vegetables, portioning proteins, mixing sauces, and prepping garnishes.

Cook food: Following recipes and instructions, cooks grill, fry, bake, steam, or otherwise cook menu items to meet quality and temperature standards.

Plate dishes: Arranging food on plates in an appealing and consistent manner according to recipe specifications.

Maintain cleanliness and hygiene: Keeping the kitchen workspace clean and sanitized is crucial to ensure food safety.

Stock control: Monitoring ingredient levels and restocking as needed to avoid running out during service.

Follow food safety procedures: Understanding and adhering to food safety practices like proper storage and handling temperatures.

Operate equipment: Learning to use various kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, such as ovens, grills, and fryers.

Communicate with colleagues: Coordinating with other cooks and kitchen staff to ensure smooth service and timely order completion.

Meet deadlines: Working efficiently to prepare dishes within the required timeframe to keep up with customer demand.

Present a professional image: Maintaining a clean appearance, positive attitude, and willingness to learn contribute to a successful kitchen environment.
