Tour Guide – Sweet As Travel, New Zealand
Looking to travel New Zealand, create incredible moments, friends, all with an office to New Zealand’s best views? Welcome…
In our corner of the world, ‘Sweet As’ means awesome. To ensure our tours live up to our name, we’re after epic guides to help us out with our busy summer season touring.
Here at Sweet As, we provide only UNBEATABLE tours of New Zealand for 18-35’s! If you haven’t already found us, head over to sweetastravels.com to check out who we are and what we’re all about.
Tour guiding isn’t a job, it’s a lifestyle. A lifestyle that involves travelling around arguably the most beautiful, exotic locations in the world, meeting the most amazing people.
Sounds easy, right? Well…. successful candidates will need to be:
Confident & Social:
An epic tour isn’t half as good without an epic guide! You’ll be extrovert, awesome public speaker & confident enough to babysit all types of people, ensuring they have a Sweet As time!
Guiding isn’t just fun and games, you’ll need to find that sweet spot between being people’s best friend and responsibly ensuring there are no ‘hiccups’ along the way.
Master of Sales
Besides the daily rate, a great way to bump up your paycheck is with commission. From skydives to bungees, it’ll be your job to rally up the numbers after your impeccable YOLO speech, so you can earn up to 10% on those extra bookings!
As they say, there’s no i in team! Working with a variety of suppliers, it’ll be your job to make sure the tour runs smoothly & as planned. We’ve paired you up with a driver, who’ll not only show you the ropes but so you can sit back and focus on what you do best.
What will I actually be doing?
Besides babysitting over 15 of our eager travellers through their hangovers, you’ll be navigating their way through New Zealand’s highlights, getting as much involved as they are! You’ll be helping out with:
Driving a bus & updating map directions isn’t a smart idea, hence why we’ll need you to help out our drivers when things get tricky! Road closures, weather & traffic delays are all obstacles to pulling off an awesome experience.
On some occasions, we’ll need you to put your culinary skills to the test! Group meals are great to save money & get people involved.
Whether it’s around the best bars or through native bush, you’ll be getting stuck in to ensure our guests are well educated in the art of drinking… cough, I mean New Zealand!!
Being on the ball is a must! On a daily basis, you’ll be triple checking new & existing bookings days in advance to ensure things run to plan.
Ideal candidates will have:
Previous Guiding Experience
It’s not a must but certainly helps if you’ve had guiding experience or travel/ customer service related jobs.
Driving License & Endorsement
