How would you like to live and work in the stunning Marlborough Sounds, in a luxury resort environment. We are seeking a talented and capable Chef de Partie to deliver exciting and exception food, to meets our guests’ high expectations.

The Bay of Many Coves is a small luxury resort in Arthur’s Bay, a 30 minute water taxi ride up the Queen Charlotte Sound from Picton, and we are looking for a Chef de Partie for the upcoming busy summer season. From now until March or April 2027.

As a Chef de Partie, you will relish the opportunity to work in a fine dining restaurant in a five-star location. You will be joining our award-winning team and working in a small and tight knit kitchen team. You will be eager to learn from our Head Chef and develop your skills to deliver exceptional food that exceed guest expectations, often in a degustation style dinner tasting menu. You will have a proven capability to operate the kitchen independently. At times you may be responsible for the more preparing the Breakfast & Lunch service, following the Head Chef’s directions.

We are particularly interested in applications from couples, given the remote location of the resort these are live on-site roles. Your partner will have complementary hospitality experience (either in food & beverage service, housekeeping, maintenance etc).

To be successful you will both be hard working, dedicated and comfortable working under pressure on split shifts. You will be joining a small team, so it’s important you are team players and willing to pitch in.

You must comfortable working and living in a remote location with no road access, so we find this suits someone that enjoys an outdoor lifestyle. It is a fantastic location to take advantage of the many outdoor activities at our doorstep - fishing, staff kayaks and fantastic hiking tracks including access to the famous Queen Charlotte Track for example.

You must be willing to relocate for this position, and live on site in a remote location. We are located in the Queen Charlotte Sounds and are a 30 minute direct boat ride from Picton, the nearest town. There is no road access to the lodge, so suits someone who enjoys an outdoor lifestyle and living on the waters edge.
