Farmhands is a Christchurch based recruitment company specialising exclusively in Primary Industry roles.
Our client, Scottfresh, is seeking a Dispatch 2IC person. Scottfresh produces supermarket ready vegetables and salad crops for the New Zealand market.

About the role:
Based in North Canterbury: Claverley Beach and Spotswood.
Immediate start available
Full Time, permanent role. 40-60 hours per week.
Hours vary by the season. Longer hours are required in summer.
Day shift. Monday - Friday and every second Saturday.

Accommodation is available with this job. All accommodation is close to the workplace.

Starting rate: 25 - 30 per hour.

About the tasks:

Work alongside the Dispatch Manager in a team of 2-3 people
Speak with truck drivers and logistics coordinators to make sure orders arrive in a timely manner.
Drive a forklift to prepare orders for dispatch.
Monitor quality of produce according to the internal product specifications.
Complete relevant paperwork such as dispatch dockets or stock sheets.

About you:

You will be comfortable working independently. The role will require you to work unsupervised.
You will be a confident communicator. You will need to speak to logistics companies and work smoothly with other departments inside Scottfresh.
You will be confident working under pressure. The role can be very busy, with multiple trucks arriving at the same time.
