Calf Rearer Needed In Canterbury Area

We have a well-paid 6-8 week contract starting in July for a Calf Rearer based in the Geraldine area. Would be great if you have previous calf rearing experience! This role is on a 1800-cow farm.

Please note:
•This position is not suitable for couples but the employer is open to nationalities and gender.
•This is a drive in position and no accommodation will be provided on farm.

Responsibilities include:
• Calf rearing, including feeding and caring for calves
• Identifying and alerting managers to sick cows
• Performing other general farm duties

Ideal candidates will have:
• Previous dairy farming experience (preferred)
• A good attitude, initiative, and a strong work ethic (mandatory)
• Some experience in dairy farming, large animal care, or agriculture/viticulture/horticulture
• Motorbike and quad driving skills (mandatory for some jobs, not all)
• Good English communication skills
• A valid driver’s license (international licenses accepted) and your own vehicle
• The ability to work outside under various conditions
• Willingness to work rotating rosters

Package includes:
• Wage is between 24.00 - 32.00 per hour + 8% holiday pay
• Minimum of 36 hours and an average of 54 hours per week
