Third Wheel Coffee Co. is a small, cozy café tucked away in Paihia, known for our specialty coffee, home-baked treats, and strong connection with our regulars.

A little more on this exciting opportunity:
We're gearing up for a busy summer and looking for a Front of House superstar to join our café team in Paihia. You'll be the face of Third Wheel – greeting regulars by name, making visitors feel like locals, and keeping the floor running smoothly even when it's slammed. This is a Full-Time, seasonal-to-permanent role, 20-30 hours per week, with shifts across our opening hours (Mon–Fri 8am–2pm, Sat–Sun 8am–12pm). Weekend availability over summer is a must.

What you will bring:
* Proven front of house / hospitality experience, ideally in a busy café
* Ability to stay calm, quick, and organised under pressure
* Genuine warmth – you love chatting with customers and remembering their order
* A team-first attitude and willingness to jump in wherever needed
* Strong attention to detail and cash-handling/POS confidence
* High standard of personal presentation and hygiene
* A real love for the Bay of Islands and the lifestyle that comes with it

What you will be doing:
* Welcoming customers, taking orders, and running the floor during peak summer trade
* Working closely with our baristas and bakers to keep service tight and friendly
* Clearing and resetting tables, keeping the café looking sharp
* Handling payments
* Helping onboard casual summer staff and keeping the vibe fun under pressure
* Upholding food safety and hygiene standards at all times
