Farm Assistant – General Farm Hand

We are seeking someone to help on our sheep and cattle farm. Tasks include assisting with sheep work such mustering, weighing, crutching, drenching etc,. Other tasks may include assisting with fencing, electric fences, weed control etc. and work with cattle along with helping with the many other tasks around the farm , garden and homestead. The farm is within an attractive valley with great views, expansive skies and access to the top of the range.

This role is for someone who likes and is caring for animals and enjoys the outdoors. A mid-January start is required and preferably you are able to be with us for some time.

You need to be physically fit with a level of strength. Ideally you have some experience with sheep /other animals along with being quick and keen to learn. Good communication skills, good humoured, happy to help out where needed and a good work ethic - all essential. Practical skills such as fencing and carpentry would be a plus. The ability to drive a manual 4 WD is required and able to ride a motorbike may be useful.

We can offer 25.50 dollars /hr including holiday pay. There will be some long days and weekend work.
