Job Title – Event Hand

The Flagship Events Company is a family owned and operated company providing high end rental equipment for weddings and events around New Zealand. As the exclusive providers of the beautifully hand crafted Sperry tents, Flagship prides itself on being NZ’s premium event company with exceeding standards in service and product offering.
We are looking to fill a role based out of our North Island HQ in Hastings. The candidate will be required to deliver, set up and pack down events all around NZ along with inventory maintenance and expansion.
Applicants will need strong communication skills, good work ethic, keen eye for detail, ability to get along with others and the flexibility to travel.

Key Responsibilities:
- Event set ups/ pack downs – Erecting/dismantling marquees, flooring, lighting, furniture etc.
- The candidate will need to undergo training in systems, techniques and standards required to complete a set up and pack down of a Flagship event.
- Ensure all rental equipment is serviced and clean before every event.
- Enforce strict safety guidelines and company standards
- A key focus on health and safety and quality of service
- Manage the delivery and collection of hire items, such as tables and chairs for events.
- Making sure the shed/office is maintained, cleaned and functional and fits within H & S guidelines.
- Service the hire items throughout the season as required. i.e varnishing flooring, fixing/re-oiling tables and chairs, re-painting bars, wiring lighting etc.
- We are constantly improving and expanding our rental offering so are often building new items to add to the inventory so a basic level of building/carpentry knowledge is a bonus.

Requirement of the Job
- Flexible working hours – During the summer season, the days working can be sporadic and may include working weekends and spending nights away from home on the odd occasion.
- Willing to travel – Events will involve a fair bit of driving to locations all around the North and South Island.
- Be willing to put in extra hours as required during events. This will be made up for when bookings allow but may require the odd long day during the season.
- Experience in the event industry is a bonus
- The ability to drive trucks and tow heavy trailers. A class two license is not a requirement but a bonus.
