Hostel Assistant

Located in Te Anau, Fiordland, Barnyard Backpackers is looking to fill it's team again for the remainder of the summer season and we're looking for a suitable candidate to fill our job opening
Te Anau is in the heart of Fiordland and the location would suit someone keen on the outdoors. Looking to fill the vacancy with a start on January 29 a The job at Barnyard will cover the day to day activities around accommodating guests in our hostel.
As such it includes reception hours, general housekeeping duties, laundry, as well as possibly some garden upkeep. Good command of english a requirement.
28-35 Hours / week will be worked over 4-5 days. Generally we will endeavour to give 2, and in rotation 3, days off in a row
Experience in the industry would be preferred but not essential. High work standard and attention to detail are an expectation. You will need be available until the end of April 2026


Accommodation is included. It is simple, and shared with other staff
We are located 9 km out of town between Te Anau and Manapouri, at a beautiful location on an elevated small farm block
Having your own transport is essential to get to and from town, but also to explore the area in it's full potential.
