Summer Farm Assistant - Dairy Farm

This job would suit backpackers or uni students looking to learn some farming skills or after some summer farm work to help fund travels! Rough dates required would be between December through to March, but flexible.

The farm is located only 15 mins from central New Plymouth and the beaches!
Work hours will be roughly 30per week but will be very flexible so that applicants also get to enjoy summer and see some sights!

Farm details:

200 cows

24 aside herringbone cowshed

You will be required to work alongside the farm owner/operator, and when capable be able to run the farm for a couple days while farmer is away.

Jobs would include but not limited to;

*Milking cows ( sole charge after some training)

*Feeding calves

*Weed spraying

*Fencing

*Tractor work

*General maintenance/tidying

Training can be provided for all tasks but some experience would be useful and wage would reflect experience.

On farm accommodation can be provided in the form of in a spare room with it’s own bathroom in farmers house.
