Field Operator

Aoraki Tree and Scrub Mackenzie District, South Island

Job Description

Do you enjoy working outside in stunning landscapes with a great team doing environmentally important work to protect New Zealand ecosystems? We have positions available in our team for fit people to get involved in clearing wilding pines and other invasive species.

You would be part of a strong team supporting the management of wilding pines, helping to protect our native eco-systems and wildlife around the Mackenzie District. There is a great team culture with everybody getting along and enjoying their work. You may already be living in Twizel or the surrounding Mackenzie District, but some of our team commute in and stay at accommodation arranged by us from Monday to Friday. We can consider those who want a full-time position as well as working with those who want part time or casual employment.

There will be occasions where walking up steep terrain is involved in accessing sites so a reasonable standard of fitness is expected. Qualifications are not necessary as on the job training will be given. A ‘can do’ attitude is a must.

Not a backpacker? That's ok. We accept applications from New Zealand citizens, permanent residents, international students as well as working holiday visa holders. If you are qualified for this position, please register and apply via the form below.
