We're gearing up for the kiwifruit harvest season and are on the hunt for a skilled Forklift Operator to join our dynamic team. If you're passionate about horticulture and have a knack for handling machinery, we'd love to hear from you!

Oropi Management Services LTD, a family-owned and operated kiwifruit orchard management company, is on the lookout for an experienced machinery operator to join our team. Since our inception in 2007, and with roots in kiwifruit growing stretching back to 1977, we pride ourselves on managing both Organic and Conventional Kiwifruit orchards with a passion for quality and sustainability.

Role Overview:

As a Forklift Operator, you will be instrumental in managing the logistics of kiwifruit bins, both empty and full, ensuring they are handled with care to maintain the integrity of our product. Your role will support the efficiency of our harvesting operations and contribute to our success.

Key Responsibilities:

• Unloading and Organizing Bins: Safely unload empty bins from trucks and arrange them in an organized manner for tractor drivers to transport to the orchard.
• Stacking and Loading Full Bins: Carefully stack full bins and load them onto trucks for transportation, ensuring the fruit is not damaged in the process.
• Health and Safety Compliance: Adhere to strict health and safety protocols at all times to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and your colleagues.
• Maintenance Checks: Perform daily maintenance checks on your forklift to ensure it is in optimal operating condition, reporting any issues promptly.

Minimum Requirements:

• A valid New Zealand recognised forklift operator certification (i.e OSH).
• Proven experience in forklift operation, preferably in an agricultural setting.
• Ability to work flexible hours during the harvest season, including weekends and evenings.
• Strong focus on safety and precision in handling machinery.
• Good physical condition and ability to coordinate movements precisely.
