We are looking for a Sous Chef and a Commis Chef to become a valued member of Te Waonui Forest Retreat! Join our team and immerse yourself in a fantastic atmosphere with breath-taking mountain views.
Location: 3 Wallace Street, Franz Josef
Employment Type: Fixed-Term 3/4 month position
Start Date: Immediate
Hours of Work: Guaranteed a minimum of 30-40 hours per week, on a rotating roster, including weekends from Monday - Sunday. This role offers the flexibility to accommodate both morning and evening shifts.
Wage Rate: Negotiable depending on skills and experience
Key Tasks & Responsibilities:
Assisting with the preparation, cooking and serving of food for service.
Assisting with the preparation, cooking and serving of staff meals.
Ensuring that all food is served and stored at the correct temperature to meet hotel standards and kitchen guidelines.
Clean and sanitise work areas, equipment, utensils and dishes.
Follow all sanitation and hygienic food handling procedures set out by legislation and hotel policy.
Preferred Skills & Experience:
Experience in a commercial kitchen environment
Collaborative skills to work effectively with other kitchen staff and maintain a positive work environment
Understanding and meeting customer expectations regarding food quality and presentation.
Positive attitude with a willingness to learn
Excellent verbal communication skills.
