Job Description
The Duke of Marlborough Hotel in Russell, Bay of Islands is looking for Chef de partie for our summer season.
The Duke of Marlborough Hotel is an award-winning destination venue located directly on the waterfront in beautiful Russell. Steeped in history and intrigue, this majestic heritage building has been refreshing rascals and reprobates since 1827.
Successful applicants will be required to work in a bustling restaurant environment. You will prepare and cook food as well as other kitchen duties as required.
Responsibilities include (but not limited to):
- Be familiar with daily and ongoing menus, functions, specials etc..
- Ensure individual sections and responsibilities are ready to meet daily, function and special requirements.
- Ensure the necessary stocks are on hand at the right quality and quantity.
- Ensure each component of a dish prepared is up to standard and properly cooked, and delivered on time.
- Follow recipes and instructions carefully.
- Clean preparation and service areas daily.
- Clean other areas as required.
- Inform Head/Sous Chef of any short falls in stock or ordering needed for the next day.
It is essential that you can:
- Work under pressure
- Take on feedback and work as a team
- Be organised and manage your time efficiently
- Comply to NZ Food Safety Standards
