Job Description

The Sawmill Smoko Room, 1hour north of Auckland just out of Matakana Village, is looking for experienced seasonal wait staff for a busy summer period. Matakana is the place to be over the summer, and we see a huge number of visitors coming through to surf, camp or stay in holiday homes, so we'll absolutely need some extra hands over this time. We are looking for someone who is available to start from late December, through to 6th February 2024.

The Smoko Room is the front-facing tap room and restuarant of the Sawmill Brewery - New Zealand's only bCorp certified brewery.
We boast an inpressive line up of 15taps, an exclusively New Zealand only wine list, and a seasonal menu that uses produce from our local suppliers. We serve simple but elegant food in a gorgeous, relaxed setting, and aim to offer a different experience to other eateries and drinkieries in the Matakana region.

We are open 7days, and successful applicants will be available at least one full weekend day. Rosters are flexible, but you will be required to work evenings and weekends. If you love to hustle, work hard, and then enjoy a delicious cold staffie and a swim after work, we're where you want to be!

In 2019 we were the first brewery in New Zealand to become B-Corp certified and we are constantly working on ways to improve our social impact.
Our bar is situated right in front of our brew house enabling our customers to enjoy the freshest beer possible in a beautiful, rural setting with true kiwi hospitality. Our beer is unpasteurised, preservative and sugar free.
We are a 15 tap bar and restaurant located within our brewery with the objective of creating truly outstanding experiences for our customers.
