We are looking for enthusiastic Commis Chefs
At The Hermitage Hotel we offer our guests a variety of dining options including the premier Alpine Restaurant, Sir Edmund Hillary Café and Bar, and the Chamois Bar and Grill. You may work in any or all our outlets, which makes this an exciting opportunity to work in a diverse and evolving environment.
We are committed to providing opportunities for training and upskilling with support from our highly experienced senior chef team to team members who prove themselves passionate and committed to their personal development and growth.

What will my day look like?
• Preparing and cooking food, and development of recipes and dishes
• Ordering food supplies for your area of designated responsibility, and maintaining adequate stock levels
• Working with junior and senior team members to monitor the quality of dishes at all stages of preparation, presentation, and service
• Demonstrating techniques, advising on cooking procedures to junior staff, and supporting the development and training of team members
• Work as a member of the kitchen to maintain a pleasant and safe working environment and ensure efficiency in preparation of food to exceed customers’ expectations
• Follow and use a Food Control Plan and company procedures to ensure food safety requirements and our A-grading are maintained
