Restaurant Waitering & Bar Work - IF YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT A LA CARTE/RESTAURANT WAITERING IS, THEN THIS JOB IS NOT FOR YOU! :), and also some Housekeeping shifts to boost your hours - your hourly rate will be based on your experience. We all pitch in here together and just get the job done - in whatever area it may be.
We are looking for someone who has had a LOT of experience in Hotel/Restaurant work. Some sole bar shifts are part of this role and also co-ordinating the restaurant on some busy nights, so you can't just wing it - I can't stress enough the importance of experience. This position requires someone with excellent customer service skills, GREAT ENGLISH, and a good sense of humour. We would require the successful applicant to start as soon as possible (to have training with our current seasonal staff), and go through until the end of our busy season which is until the end of April/May. This is a good chance to go hard and save hard. If you can't stay until at least the end of April, please don't apply. This isn't a role for someone who wants three weeks off here and there - we need someone who wants to work hard and save hard, then continue their travels.
As we get really busy, experience is essential - you need to have at least 3 years waitering experience and know bar work. Full drivers license (for courtesy coach runs) required - this is a "must have". Roster is over 7 days. If you have an allergy to putting your hands in the sink, then this job's not for you. The owners are hands on too - We get stuck in and get it done to make the day a success, and help each other out - all with a smile on the dial, and don't mind having a quiet one (or two) after work. We all do the dishes and clean up ourselves - including us, the owners.
Previous experience with applicants is the reason that I have emphasised the job experience required. This is not a training position, it is a full time role, come on in, learn how we do it, then rock on.

We are an owner operated Hotel - Michael is one of the Chefs, and me (Stacey), well, I work in all areas. We get very busy in the restaurant, and also accommodation with visitors to the area - a lot ride the Otago Central Rail Trail. Although we are a "Country Pub", we like to surprise people with our great service and meals. We have a tight team, with long standing staff members, and we all get along well, and help each other out. We all work hard, and enjoy having a drink and a catch up at the end of a busy night.
